A Retreat With... Elizabeth Seton... Meeting Our Grace

In this seven-day retreat, Meeting our Grace, your director is Elizabeth Seton, foundress of the American Sisters of Charity and the first American-born saint. Elizabeth assumed many roles in her life - wife, mother, widow, single parent, educator, mentor - finding in each task the necessary grace. She provides an example to those faced with the challenge of finding a spiritual center in the midst of many roles. Excerpts from the saint's diaries and letters are woven into a week of prayer and deepening acquaintance.

Judith Metz, a Sister of Charity, is archivist/ historian for her order and an instructor at the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati. She has written numerous articles on the history of the Sisters of Charity. She holds an M.A. in history and an M.B.A. from Xavier University in Cincinnati and is a doctoral candidate at the Union Institute in Cincinnati.
